The
Crystal Lake Park District offers playgrounds, bike paths, athletic
courts, two public beaches (Main and West), dedicated nature preserves
(Wingate Prairie and Sterne's Woods), a 300-acre outdoor athletic
complex at Lippold Park along with 9 indoor tennis courts at The
Racket Club and Park Place a banquet facility.
Covering
1200 acres, the 36 parks and 13 facilities maintained by the Crysyal
Lake Park District provide a wide variety of programs for all ages
from arts and crafts and athletics to special events open to the
55,000 residents and non-residents alike.

Main
Beach located on the shore of Crystal Lake, is a 27 acre park that
features a boathouse and launch for residents, boat rentals, picnic
area, baseball diamonds, three basketball courts, concessions and
groomed ice for winter skating.
Main
Beach is host to many popular events including America's Cardboard
Cup Regatta, Fourth of July fireworks, summer camps, Snowbird Softball
Tournament, The Northern Illinois Special Recreation Fishing Tournament
and Doc Haznow's Chili Open Golf Tournament.

Lippold
Park is a 309 acre athletic facility featuring hiking trails, including
the McGough handicap accessible fitness trail, the Rotary disc golf
course, four baseball fields, four softball fields, nine soccer fileds,
and two sand volleyball courts. With picnic facilities and a playground
along with three Little League fields, the Lippold Park has something
for everyone. |

Veteran
Acres Park is a 150 acre recreation facility that includes picnicking,
softball, horseshoes, hiking with skating and sledding in the winter.
The
Nature Center consists of a glacial pond, warming house, large playground,
ball fields, concessions and washroom facilities.
Wingate
Prairie, located in Veteran Acres is a 39 acre gravel hill prairie
which is included in the Illinois Nature Preserve.
